Ramuc Tuff Coat UT-218, Tuff Coat Waterpark Blue, 21806, rubberized non-skid coating, rubberized pool deck coating, non-slip pool paint, submersible non-skid coating, pool step anti-slip coating, splash pad coating, water-based rubber coating, low VOC pool coating California, California compliant pool deck paint, rubber pool paint California, Tuff Coat UT-200 series
Ramuc Tuff Coat · UT-218 · Waterpark Blue · 1 GallonRubberized Grip. Water-Based. California Ready.Real recycled rubber granules locked into a water-based urethane acrylic. Non-skid traction on pool decks, steps, and splash pads, in or out of the water, at 53 g/L VOC so it ships to and sells in California.
Why Pool Surfaces Get DangerousWet Concrete Has No Grip.Smooth concrete, fiberglass steps, and old painted decks turn slick the second they get wet. The usual fix in other states is a solvent-based rubber pool paint, and most of those cannot be shipped into California because of VOC limits. Tuff Coat solves both problems at once: rubber traction in a water-based formula.
◆
Slick When WetBare concrete and gelcoat are the top slip-and-fall surfaces around a pool. Rubber granules give feet something to bite into.
◑
Solvent Paints Cannot Ship HereChlorinated rubber pool paints exceed California VOC limits and get refused at checkout. This one is water-based at 53 g/L.

Thin Paint Wears ThroughStandard deck paint goes on at a few mils and scuffs off in a season. Tuff Coat builds to 30 to 35 mils of flexible rubberized film.

What Rubberized Actually MeansRubber Granules. Not a Rubber Smell. Most products called rubber pool paint are chlorinated rubber dissolved in solvent. Tuff Coat is different. Real recycled rubber granules are cross-linked into a water-based urethane acrylic, so the grip comes from rubber particles standing proud of the surface, not from a slippery film that happens to contain rubber. It stays flexible, takes impact, and holds up submerged.
Recycled rubber granules provide the non-skid texture
Urethane acrylic binder stays flexible and impact resistant
Rated for continuous submersion: steps, benches, wave pools
Chemical and UV resistant for chlorinated outdoor use
Made for California Rules53 g/L VOC. Ships to Every California Zip.California limits swimming pool coatings to 340 g/L VOC, and the South Coast district is stricter still. Solvent-based rubber pool paints land well above that, which is why they are missing from California shelves. Tuff Coat UT-218 is water-based at 53 g/L as supplied. Discount Pool Mart stocks it in Southern California and ships it anywhere in the state.
53 g/L VOC as supplied, well under the 340 g/L pool coating limit
Single component, no catalyst, no thinner needed
Low odor, safe for indoor natatoriums and restrooms
Flash point 196°F, ships ground without hazmat

Yes. Tuff Coat UT-218 is water-based with 53 g/L VOC as supplied. California's statewide limit for swimming pool coatings is 340 g/L, so this coating is far under it, and Discount Pool Mart ships it from our Southern California warehouse to any address in the state. The solvent-based chlorinated rubber pool paints you may have used before are the ones that cannot be sold here.
No. Tuff Coat is a non-skid traction coating, not a smooth pool finish. Use it on steps, benches, tanning ledges, splash pads, ramps, and deck areas where you need grip. For a full pool interior, look at Ramuc's EP or DS series pool paints.
About 45 square feet at two coats. Add a third coat for heavy traffic areas. Coverage is lower than regular paint because the coating goes on 40 to 48 mils wet per coat to build the rubber texture.
Yes on most surfaces. Use Ramuc UT-80 Adhesion Primer on concrete, wood, fiberglass, and sound previously painted surfaces. Use UT-95 Metal Primer on bare steel or aluminum. The exception is an existing non-skid finish in good condition, which can be cleaned, rinsed, dried, and recoated directly.
Dry to touch in about 1 hour at 70°F, recoat in 1 to 2 hours. Keep air and surface above 40°F for at least 8 hours after the last coat. Allow full chemical cure, 24 hours to 5 days depending on temperature and humidity, before submerging.
