The OEM Hayward Display Board and Ribbon Cable, model HDXFUIBRD001, is engineered for use with HDF heaters. Note: If the heater display is blank after the electrical has been installed, refer to Troubleshooting Lookup Chart to determine the cause. Note, the ribbon cable between the display board and the ignition control board is keyed to ensure correct connection.

Compatibility

Instructions

1. Turn the pump, main gas valve, and heater power off.
2. Remove the single screw securing the top access panel to the cabinet top.
3. Unplug the installed ribbon cable from the ignition control board inside the heater cabinet. Remove the connector from the ignition board by depressing the locking mechanism in the center of the connector before pulling it free.
4. On the underside of the top access panel, remove four (4) screws securing the display board cover and remove cover.
5. Disconnect the membrane switch ribbon cable from the side of the display board and remove the board from the top access panel.
6. Reverse the above procedure to install the new display board.

Communication Error Code

 If communication between the ignition control board and the display board is not established within 3 s of power-up or is lost for 30s during operation unit will shut down and error will be displayed. The error code will be cleared upon a valid data exchange between boards.
